If any Chamber Members would like to help out by donating food for a BBQ dinner of Brisket, Chicken, Sausage, Potato Salad, Beans, Salad, Dessert and Tea or money to help purchase these items it would be truly appreciated. | | MARDI GRAS PARADE | | 05 Jan 2012 | The Bolivar Peninsula Lighthouse Krewe will hold its 21st annual Mardi Gras Parade on Saturday, Feb 18 at 11:30. This year's theme is "Heroes & Villains." This year, the parade will begin at the avocet subdivision just west of Jacks road. All entries must register to enter and must throw something like candy, beads, etc. For information on entering the parade please call Anne Willis at 409-684-3345 or visit us at www.lighthousekrewe.com. You must fill out an application to be in the parade. |

Rolling out a cast to the grassy edge of the salt-marsh settled my streamer right on top of a swirl left by a feeding trout, when, after a few quick line jerks, the reaction for the action "imploded" on it bowing the fly rod to the fight of speckled silver.

Gilchrist Community Association Christmas Children's Fund
This year, the Gilchrist Community Association is looking forward to getting into the Christmas spirit again. Before Hurricane Ike, the Association in partnership with the Gilchrist Volunteer Fire Department used to hold a Christmas toy drive and Santa would distribute toys to residents during the holiday season. This year, the Gilchrist Community Association will be returning to that tradition by collecting donations to purchase new toys to distribute to Peninsula
