This house has good and bad points. Good points - its very big and has lots of beds. It is also right on (or in) the water. At high tide, the water comes under the house. Bad Points - There is no slab under the house even though the ad says one is there. No cable tV either. The house was dirty, and the furniture and beds are not in very good shape. I don't think I would rent this house again. |

If you rent this huge cabin looking for new, up-to-date convience, go elsewhere and pay more. What this cabin has is what most lack. This cabin has character, is huge, 1920's and has the best beach view and closest to the beach. The tide does not flow under the cabin but just part of the pier steps on the beach. My family and I have rented plenty and had more fun in this old cabin than any of the newer ones we rent every year. We will for sure rent this one again. The staff did take care of any issues listed in the above comments and went out of the way to make sure we were well accomodated. About the only bad thing to say is it could use cable or DVD instead of VCR for those who choose to sit in and watch TV instead of enjoy the beach. |

I am the owner of the property and I want to thank all who have left comments. We must appologize to all that have stayed in the house. My parents use to tend to the house since they lived near by.They moved and I have had to depend on Swedes to manage the property,inform me of repairs and clean it. They failed, as did I for not following up on the cleaning crew that should have been informing me of problems. This has all been taken care of. The home has been cleaned up and will remain so.Repairs have been made or in the process of being made. There is a slab under the house, but because of the artificial dune running in front of the house, the sand keeps covering it. The water does get under the beach steps on the beach side of the artificial dune when it is really high tide,but not under the house.New lights have been replaced on the deck. Now that Swedes has this comment section, you as renters can help me stay informed of problems or things needing to be replaced and done.Again, thank you all for your comments and suggestions! |

Some friends and I rented this house for New Years Eve weekend in 2006/2007 and even though it wasn't the most up-to-date, we absolutely LOVED it. It was perfect for what we needed (lots of space and great character). There was a pretty bad storm the first night and while it's true that it is ON the beach, we did not have any problems with the water coming over the breaker. We are actually planning another reunion and plan on renting this house again just because we all liked it so much! |

Rented this house 4/2008, Lots of common space. Plenty of room for various activities, The house had great character, we could not have gotten any closer to the water. WE had a great weekend with a large crowd. Some broken furniture, could be moved out. Didn't have to worry about traffic on the beach. All in all we had a great time and will rent this house again. Can't wait for our next trip |

I would reccomend to the owners to please replace the beds in the last 2 bedrooms. They are in very bad condition, as are the 2 couches in the living room area. |
