A very nice cabin with great views and access to the beach. Cabin was very neat and aminities were exceptional. There were still a few updates not completed at the time of our stay (painting trim). We had a most enjoyable weekend and would recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking for a small cabin for a week-end get a way. |

As the new owners of the Blue Sea Cottage, we wish to welcome you! This 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom (plus beach shower-down) is sure to delight our guests. It has been newly renovated with an elegant beach theme. Remodel highlights include: ALL NEW furniture, beds, tropical ceiling fans, flooring, accessories, fully stocked kitchen and even a beautiful new master bath with king size custom tiled shower and vessel vanity.
The house comes with luxury LINENS & TOWELS INCLUDED in your rental. A few of the amenities are: TVs with expanded cable, DVD player, washer & dryer - a must for weekly + stays, Weber barbecue, iron/board, blow dryer, beach supplies (chairs, umbrella, sand toys, cooler), board games, puzzles and even a few movies. There's no need to over pack for your stay. Just pack your clothes, beach towels, toiletries and if you're sweet, some bug/mosquito spray because the bugs like to nibble especially during summer.
The 820 sq ft cottage sits on a large lot with 172 feet of beach frontage. Located in a quiet area with a walk-over to the beach, it is the perfect vacation destination for families and couples. Best of all, it has beautiful beach views from every room. Sleeps 5 comfortably, 7 max.
*** Please CALL Swede's for any additional questions or for availability. ***

We had a great time and the house was great. There were still some finishing touches to be made, but overall it was a great house. I loved the master bedroom and connecting bathroom and the view was fantastic. We will surely consider renting this house again. |

Loved the house, absolutely beautiful. The decor was great and all the amenities were appreciated. My only comment is this house would be great for adults only, I was nervous all the time re: my 4 yr. old son. It was hard to truly relax because I was concerned he would break something or get sticky prints on the furniture. The place is almost too nice for a beach house. Very upscale. Also the 5 page inventory list on the wall was a bit offputting. Made me feel a bit guilty, Once I dropped a spoon behind the fridge and spent 20 min. trying to get it lest I be charged for a stolen spoon! Trust your guests more, keep the list out of sight, all the signs are enough. once again would recommend for adults only, esp. honeymoon or such, keep the kids away.. |

Thanks to everyone who has left comments in the guestbook. As the owners with twin 5 year old boys we just wanted to let everyone know we welcome families. We remodeled and furnished the cottage with luxury comfort and kids in mind. The walls are semi-gloss, floors Laminate wood and tile, furniture is leather and micro fiber... all easily cleaned with a slightly damp sponge and mild soap if, there is a spill. The decor is above little fingers reach. The beds are luxury mattresses and all have waterproof mattress pads on. We even have sand toys, puzzles, books, games, DVDs for small children and our sons favorite a little red wagon. We hope couples, adults and families alike will enjoy their stay and continue to keep it nice for future guests. |

Thanks so much for an awesome vacation rental. Everything was simply superb! We loved being right on the beach, great neighbors, great view and wonderful memories. The house has been renovated wonderfully!
*** The only drawback for me was being misinformed (NOT BY THE OWNERS OF THE HOUSE) about the beach being a pedestrian only beach. I was given the impression that there wasn't going to be any traffic...there seemed to be a steady stream so I was constantly worried about someone running over one of my kids or the beach chairs, etc. |

We sincerely hope that your beautiful cottage somehow managed to survive the hurricane. We had such a wonderful time there in July and are heartbroken at the images coming from the peninsula. All our best |

Thank you to all our guests....Unfortunately, it looks like our beach cottage was completely destroyed by hurricane IKE. From the photos and videos currently available, it appears that the Gilchrist area is completely gone.....all of the hundreds of homes. The peninsula has so much damage that it may take a very long time to repair???
We bought this cottage just about 1 year ago and spent 4 months completely renovating everything. Much of the work we did ourselves. We loved this little beach cottage and had hoped to have it as our retirement home some day. We wish we had been able to enjoy it a little bit longer but it just wasn't meant to be. We were last here at the end of May. We hope the many guests who stayed over the last few months have fond memories. We would love to hear from you.... |

Sorry to hear about the loss of your house. We have been following the news regarding the Bolivar Peninsula and its devastation. We were looking forward to spending a week in the cottage the first of November. In fact it was all we talked about over the last month after we sent our deposit. Now the loss of the house is our main topic. The area was so beautiful and seemed so peaceful. Maybe it will be so again. I certainly hope so. We are so sorry for your loss.
Do you know when Swede's will be able to refund deposits made?

Dear Owner, I am so sad to have lost the chance to stay at the cottage. My friends and I were to be there the weekend that Ike came thru. We are all over 40yrs. and try and do a weekend trip now and then. We had been looking forward to staying there, but are so sorry for the loss of the property. Hope you are able to find a new retirement place soon. |
