Pete's Place, Boliver Texas
The house is nice. Providing dish soap, some 409 or similar, and more than one roll of paper towels and toilet paper would be nice. Lack of these things necessitates an almost immediate search for a store in an unfamiliar area. Also I found the linen situation odd and inconvenient. Paying $100+ for linens and towels and having to make the beds after a long trip was... irritating. Tell owner to inspect and repair steps. They will become dangerous in near future if not already so. Other than that---nice place.

Memorial Weekend Stay
Overall it was a good experience at Pete's Place. The house was clean and nicely decorated. We really loved the large deck facing the beach. Although, in the advertising pictures they show an opening with a beach view, but there is actually a large beach house there now.
Having the slough behind the house was nice to see the ducks, birds, and turtles, and do some fishing (there's actually bass in there!) but be aware of the mosquitoes when you're hanging out downstairs at night. However, upstairs, on that large deck, the mosquitoes didn't seem to bother us much. Maybe because it was windy.
Only the master bedroom has a TV so it would have been nice for our guests to have TVs in their rooms, but not a big deal.
We couldn't find any trash bags for the kitchen trash can; they weren't provided. Also, the hand soaps provided in the bathrooms and kitchen were watered down. Luckily, we brought our own.
There is a cargo lift which would have been nice to use for our luggage and food coolers, but this is only available with an extra fee.
There were (2) Old Smokey grills available to use which we found in the accessible garage. This was nice to have access to for locking up and storing our outdoor items (fishing rods, coolers, chairs, etc.) when we were away from the house. There is a shower downstairs for rinsing off after the beach, but it is not enclosed and provides no privacy.

Despite some of these minor things, we would definitely consider renting Pete's Place again.

Enjoyed the stay. Beach views. Cabin was nice. Have stayed in it before. I always rent from Swedes. Been renting from them since 1978. Never disappointed.

Great stay!
The property was exactly what we were expecting from the pictures and was perfect for our family of four with two teens. It was nice and clean upon arrival. It's not the newest property, but it is well kept and cozy.
The view was great, even from the 2nd row. There’s not a lot of houses on the first row, so you can still see the water from the deck. The deck has both shade and sun and we loved sitting outside, enjoying our meals and drinks. There is a nice walkway/bridge from the neighborhood for carts and pedestrians; otherwise, the closest beach access road is just a minute drive down the highway. The walk to the beach was a little lengthy for taking a bunch of stuff. I would definitely recommend a golf cart for those with chairs, canopies, ice chests and stuff. Beach was beautiful and not too crowded, even for spring break.
Kitchen was well equipped, which I always appreciate as we cook while we're there. I don’t think there was anything we wish we would have brought to make meals as far as pots, pans, dishes, etc.
We enjoyed our stay and will likely stay here again in the future.
