Great Vacation Spot!
10/10 recommend a stay at Davis Beach. The property is beautiful and the house was absolutely amazing. Perfect for a friends and family get together at any time of year. The location (within a mile from the ferry), the open concept and THAT VIEW. Swedes never disappoints, and this house has been added to our yearly rotation. Small warning- the stickers in the grass are pretty bad, but as long as you wear shoes when you walk down to the beach, you'll be good!

Beautiful, peaceful beach location
The home itself is lovely and in a very unique location that provided amazing views & solitude. Overall everything was super clean upon arrival & in good working order. There were some issues during our stay. The hurricane shutters were down when we arrived, (we had a late arrival) blocking access to the deck doors & breeze that was much needed at the time. While making the beds we came across roaches. Most dead, but a couple live ones scurried across the floor. It would be a good idea to have someone inspect the house before a stay. Dead roach by the utility sink, in cabinets, etc. That being said, the Swedes team was VERY responsive & helpful. The shutters were up early the next morning & they sent someone out to spray again for roaches. I don't want to sound negative, as there didn't appear to be any reason for the house itself to have a roach problem, other than the outdoor shower area needing a good cleaning, but we did continue to have to deal with dead roaches appearing.

The beds were super comfortable & the house is incredibly well stocked with every kitchen item you might need (other than a Keurig), games & an extensive book selection. There are a ton of sandburs in the lawn, so don't send kiddos out without shoes & be prepared to de-burr your pets paws. As other reviews have indicated, the option to block out the sun on the large windows would make things more comfortable & energy efficient. The back deck door is out of adjustment & doesn't lock and the 2 nights that it was chilly enough to need heat, the furnace definitely couldn't keep up (an electric fireplace would've been amazing!). More comfortable seating options in the living room would also have been appreciated.

The house is super close to the ferry & not terribly far to shops & restaurants in Crystal Beach. Overall, we loved our stay and again, the assistance we got from Swedes was top notch.

Wonderful Stay in a Perfect Location!
We had an amazing time at this vacation rental! The location was ideal, just steps from the beach, which made it super easy for the kids to come and go throughout the day. The sunrise and sunset views were absolutely stunning.

The home was clean and thoughtfully prepared. I really appreciated that the towels and sheets were individually wrapped, so we knew they were freshly laundered. Making the beds ourselves with clean linens was a nice touch for that added peace of mind.

We did notice a few dead insects during our stay, but after speaking with management, they explained it was due to a recent preventative spray, which made sense and was reassuring. Since the home is pet-friendly—a feature we genuinely value—there was some lingering pet hair, especially on the furniture and floors. A deeper clean between pet stays would help keep the space feeling fresh for everyone.

The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, and it was so convenient to have leftover seasonings and coffee filters available. The management team was incredibly friendly, responsive, and helpful throughout our stay.

One thing to keep in mind: we did need to take a ferry to reach the home, so it’s worth factoring that into your arrival plans if you will need to do the same.

Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would absolutely love to return!

Quiet, Secluded Location, Perfect For Families!
We loved the house. Very convenient for letting the children come and go to the beach as they wanted. The house was spacious and well furnished. The location at the end of the road in the end of the peninsula was perfect for us trying to escape the hustle and bustle of busy/crowded beaches. We loved it!!!!

Had a great time, we want to stay again.
I will be using this location again. It was disappointing that we had a group of people on the beach in front of the house Saturday, but we worked through it. We were mis led when the house was advertised that it was on a private beech...... My wife called and discussed with management... We are not mad, and we will be using the beach house again.
Thank you,
Bo

Weekend Getaway
Location was good and the House was clean, the only complaint I have is that we lost power Saturday evening about 5pm and we had to pick up and leave. We lost Saturday evening and night as well as Sunday morning to enjoy the weekend.

Davis Beach 7-2023
Great cabin. Great weather. Only problem (which is not Swedes fault at all) was Entergy. The power was shut off for hours 4 of the 7 days we were there. Hopefully they will fix these ongoing outages on the peninsula for good. Overall, a good week.

R Family Vacation at Davis
Really enjoyed the house! I did have to run off a couple walking across the yard. The beachfront is behind a row of bamboo now so you can't see the beach, just the ocean. Fishermen and their families parked right in front of the house over the weekend. During the week we had it all to ourselves and enjoyed it! Wish list: something stable to walk over the dune and safe from bamboo (a mom and child fell corssing). A second refrigerator would be amazing since we had a full house and do not go to Galveston for food when we come.

Fourth of July at Davis Beach House
Really needs a gate at the dunes access to the beach.
People kept coming into the yard, I believe that they were using the outdoor shower at night.

Enjoyable family vacation
We enjoyed the house and location. The beach did not have big waves but good for younger kids and for kayaking. Went to different beach for bigger waves. Great to watch ships entering harbor.
